Dinner on 19th Nov 2006(Sunday)

We had dinner at the coffee shop near to Kovan Center and ordered the "Bak Kut Teh" from the new food stall. The pork ribs were tasty and meaty. However, the soup was not hot enough even though the taste was good. We had ordered the other complimentary side dishes such as baked beans, pig large intestines, braised pig leg and "soured vegetable" and they tasted good too. We had also ordered braised duck from the neigbour stall which tasted good except that it was pricey. The food was served and we will go back again. (My Overall Rating ***).

Dinner on 12th Nov 2006(Sunday)

We had dinner at one of the new food stalls at Lorong 8, Toa Payoh which specialised in sea food especially in crabs. We had ordered one of their popular crab noodles (see above photo) as the famale crab was large and the clay pot was not big to contain it. The crab was fresh and the soup was very delicious.
We had then ordered their famous butter crab (see left photo) using another female crab with plenty of roes. The butter taste with the crab meats was very delicious and fresh. The food was served and price was relatively cheap and we do not need to drive all the way to East Coast Seafood Center if we need some fresh seafood especially crabs. (My Overall Rating ****)

Lunch on 10th Nov 2006(Friday)

We had lunched at the Toa Payoh HDB Hub basement food court which is serving food for the HDB staff (with discount) and the public (without discount). We had ordered the Chicken Chop at S$5 each. It came with generous portion of french fries and reasonable portion of coleslaw and baked beans. The chicken was well cooked and tasted good with the gravy. It was a self-service food court and may back to try for other food. (My Overall Rating ***)

Dinner on 3rd Nov 2006(Friday)

We had dinner at another Beijing local "home style" resturant near the hotel that we stayed. We have ordered various Chinese dishes which were tasty and one of the interesting dishes was "fried dumping" which came with a black vinager dip. We will go back to try other dishes in the future. (My Overall Rating ***)

Dinner on 2nd Nov 2006(Thursday)

We had dinner at one of the local Chinese resturant in Beijing. We ordered one of their famous dishes which was the "Peking Duck". It was freshly "BBQed" in their special ovan using "fragrance woods" and the duck was sliced besides the table before being served.
We also ordered their "dan dan" noodle and the noodle taste was good. We had also ordered the "special shell fish" and it was very tasty. We had also a cold dish which was actually "Jelly fish with black fungus" and it was very tasty too. The resturant environment and service were good and the pricing was reasonable too. We will go back again in the future. (My Overall Rating ****)

Lunch on 1st Nov 2006(Wednesday)

We arrived on moring flight to Beijing, China on 1st Nov 2006 and stayed at JiangGuo Hotel in Beijing. After checked in the hotel, we went for lunch at one of the nearby Sichuan Resturant and ordered the popular "dan dan" noodle and their special Chicken soup with black fungus.
The "dan dan" noodle was spicy and oily but the taste was not to our expectation. The Chicken in the soup was pretty tough and could not feel any special with its taste. The service was reasonable and the pricing was relatively cheap. (My Overall Rating ***)
