Breakfast on 29th Oct 2006(Sunday)

We had breakfast at the Coffee Shop at Blk 531 in Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10 and ordered the dried Wan Ton Mee/Noodle at S$2.00 from one of its stalls. It was served in traditional porcelain bowl which is very rare nowadays for coffee shop eating. The taste was quite "traditional" too and the "char shao" meats were lean and tasty too. (My Overall Rating ***)

Lunch on 28th Oct 2006(Saturday)

We had lunch at the Food Center at Jalan Besar Road and ordered the Teochew mixed pork large intestines, lean meats and skins at S$5.00 as well as the popular cold Jelly pork & skins at S$5.00. It was quite expensive considering the portion provided were not large enough. However, the taste was quite unique and refreshing. Unfortunately, it was self-serviced even though there was no queue.(My Overall Rating ***)

Breakfast on 27 Oct 2006(Friday)

We had breakfast at the coffee shop's stall named Hoe Nam Prawn noodles in Tai Thong Crescent and had ordered the dried prawn noodles with pork ribs at S$4.00. The food was served and was quite crowded.(My Overall Rating ****)

Lunch on 22nd Oct 2006(Sunday)

We had lunched at Red Hill Food Center and ordered Cuttle Fish with Kang Kong speciality at S$4.00. The cuttle fish was fresh with other ingedients such as slides of mango, kang kong, tau pok and some sweet sauces with nice presentation. The taste was good. It was self-service and a long queue at the stall for one of their other popular dishes (Satay Mee Hoon) which we will try it in the near future.(My Overall rating ***).

Lunch on 23rd Oct 2006(Monday)

We had lunched at the Serangoon Garden Food Center and ordered Chicken Chop at S$4.50. The presentation is reasonable and the portion was acceptable. The chicken was properly done and the gravy was good. A slice of bread, some potatoes slices, baked beans and two slices of cucumbers were provided. The food was served and it was tasty. (My Overall Rating ***)

Breakfast on 22nd Oct 2006(Sunday)

We had breakfast at the food court in Ang Mo Kio avenue 4. We had ordered dried Prawn & Pork Ribs noodles at S$2.50. The presentation of the food looks reasonable. However, the noodles were very salty and the chilly was too spicy. It was not tasty at all. (My Overall Rating *)

Lunch on 19th Oct 2006(Thursday)

We had lunched at the Bedok Food Center, Blk 216 Bedok North Street 1 and ordered the "Fried Kway Teoh" at stall unit #01-49 for S$3.00. It came with generous fresh cockles and the fried kway teoh was just right with good taste. It was less oily but a bit of wet which suit my taste too. The food was served. (My Overall rating ****).

Breakfast on 19th Oct 2006(Thursday)

We had breakfast at the Food Center at Blk 527, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10 and ordered "Lou Mee" at S$2.00 from one of the stalls. It was a good value for the price paid as it came with generous servings of sliced fish cakes and fried yam slices. The gravy with mashed garlic and chilly tasted good with the yellow noodle. The food is served by the courteous old lady. (My Overall Rating ****)

Lunch on 18th Oct 2006(Wednesday)

We had lunched at the Bendemeer Food Center and ordered the dry Prawn & Pork Ribs Noodle at S$4.00 with one of the stalls there. The portion is reasonable with good mixed of chilly sauce and some pieces of prawns and pork ribs. The soup was tasty with prawn taste. The problem was that there were limited seats & tables and we had Q-up in line to do our self-service. (My Overall Rating ****)

Lunch on 16th Oct 2006(Monday)

We had lunched at Kovan Hawker Center and ordered "Hokkien Mee" at S$3.00. It had 3 pieces of prawns and some sliced cuttle fishes. The combinations of yellow noodles and rich nooldes were well mixed and tasty. It was served and I do not mind to back for more tastings in the future. (My Overall Rating ***)

We had breakfast at the coffeeshop in Blk 531 , Any Mo Kio Ave 10. We had ordered "Lou Mee" at S$3.00 and it came with a quarter size of hard boiled egg. There were a few sliced of fried fishes. The gravy has enough "vinegar" taste with plenty of chopped garlic. The food is served and the overall taste is good and I would not mind to go back again. (My Overall Rating is ***)

Lunch on 12th Oct 2006(Thursday)

We went to the basement food courts at Lucky Plaza Shopping Center for lunch and had ordered the Fried Kway Teow at S$3.50. It has the usual fresh cockles, sliced fish cakes, sliced Chinese sausages and some vegetables. The taste was reasonably good except the fresh cockles were of "smaller size" and not so juicy. Unfortunately, we had to "Q" in line to collect our ordered food and may consider to go back to explore other dishes at the food courts later. (My Overall Rating is ***)

Lunch on 11st Oct 2006(Wednesday)

We had lunched at Bedok South Road Hawker Center and ordered the Fried Kway Teow at S$3.50 as this stall was from the once popular High Street Hawker Center. The portion is reasonable large at this price in a hawker center. We had asked for added fresh cockles with 0.50 cents. It was fried with some sliced Chinese sausages and some vegetables. The taste was good and can be considered for future visits. The food was served to our table which was surprisingly good to know in a hawker center. (My Overall Rating ****)

We had lunched at coffee shop at Blk 69, Bedok South Avenue 3 and ordered the typical Fried Kwa Teow at S$3.00 per plate. There were a few fresh cockles, sliced Chinese sausage and some vegatables. However, the taste was quite average and the food was served. (My Overall Rating ***)

Dinner on 8th Oct 2006(Sunday)

We had dinner at coffee shop at Blk 326, Serangoon Ave 3 called Seafood Delight Restaurant. We had ordered the Claypot Fish Head at S$18, Hotplate Deer Meat at S$12, "Imperial Chicken" at S$8 and a vegatable dish at S$6. The Claypot Fish Head is tasty with generous gravy but it is a half fish head with lesser meat. The Hotplate Deer meat is also tasty and the portion is reasonable. The Imperial Chicken is also half chicken and is quite tasty with generous broth soup in it. It is a normal open air coffee shop and the food is served at reasonable timing. We will go back again to try other dishes in the near future. (My Overall Rating is ****)

Lunch on 2nd Oct 2006(Monday)

We had lunch at the hawker center in East Coast Park. We had ordered Fried Kwa Teow (flat rice noodle) at S$3.00 and Fried Hokkien Mee (yellow & rice noodles) at S$3.00. The fried kwa teow was very dried and it was not tasty even though it had fresh cockles, sliced Chinese sausages & sliced fish cakes. The fried hokken mee was fried with thin rice noodle instead of the "fat" rice noodle and did not have the "good mixed taste". It also lacked the prawn taste even it was fried with 2 pieces of prawns and some cuttle fish slices. Both the dishes were not up to standard and we will not patronise this stall again but would like to explore other stalls in the near future as this hawker center has interesting varieties of different local foods. (My Overall Rating *).

Dinner on 1st Oct 2006(Sunday)

We had dinner at the Fong Kee Roasted Duck Stall located in the coffee shop at Toa Payoh Lorong 1 Wet Market. We had ordered half roasted duck at S$18.00, "char siew pork" at S$4.00 and half roasted chicken at S$10.00. The roasted duck meat was delicious and it was garnished with sesame seeds and presentation looked very fresh and tempting. The "char siew pork" and roasted chicken were acceptable but it can be better. It is a typical open air coffee shop but the food was served to our table. We will go back again for the roasted duck. (My overall rating ****)

Lunch on 29th Sept 2006(Friday)

We had lunch at Yeo Nam Keng Chicken Rice Family Resturant. We had ordered the Fish Head Curry at S$18.00 and the Roasted Chicken Meats at S$8.00. The fish head was fresh and the curry was just nice for us with quite generous portions of lady's fingers, tomatoes and brinjals. We loved this dish. The roasted chicken meats were delicious and tenders. The resturant is air-conditioned and foods were served with reasonable services. We will go back again soon. (My overall rating ****)
