Lunch on 22nd Sept 2006(Friday)

We had actually wanted to try the Penang Fried Kway Teow at the hawker centre in Aljunied Avenue 2 but there was a long queue. Hence, we had decided to try at another outlet which is at Golden Cafe near the corner and it is air-conditioned which is a good consolation as it was quite hot on that afternoon! I had ordered the Seafood Fried Kway Teow topped with a "sunny side up" fresh egg as the picture on the menu looked quite interesting with the price of S$4.00. The food was served and it looked quite closed to the picture in the menu. I had then mixed the fresh egg with the hotly fried kway teow to ensure that it is "cooked enough" to minimise any association with the "bird flu"! The service was good with the clean & cool environment. However, the fried kway teow's taste was just average and I could not find anything interesting other than it looks quite tempting with the fresh egg when it was served. (My overall rating is ***)
